Chapter 3 - The Boardroom ExecutionFive days later, the high-rise tower of Kane Capital in Midtown Manhattan was shrouded in a heavy morning fog. Inside the top-floor boardroom, glass walls offered a panoramic view of the skyline, but the atmosphere inside the room was thick with tension.

Victoria Kane sat at the head of the polished mahogany conference table, clad in an immaculate pearl-white suit. Surrounding her were the senior board members, elderly men who had controlled billions of dollars for decades. She looked composed, but the dark circles beneath her heavily powdered eyes betrayed her lack of sleep. Roman had cut off her access to the family accounts, forcing her to use her private reserves.
"This emergency meeting is an outrage," Victoria announced, tapping her golden pen on the table. "My son has suffered a temporary lapse in judgment due to his... unfortunate marriage. We are here today to vote on stripping Roman of his CEO operational authority until he regains his senses."
"Are you sure that's wise, Victoria?" one of the elder board members asked nervously. "Roman controls the security wing and the primary investor relations..."
"Roman is weak!" Victoria snapped, her aristocratic facade slipping. "He let a common waitress manipulate him! She is currently fabricating lies about our family to the press—"
The heavy double glass doors of the boardroom swung open.
The room fell dead silent.
Roman Kane walked in first, looking immaculate in a bespoke charcoal three-piece suit. But he didn't sit at the head of the table. He stepped aside and held the door open.
In walked Bianca.
The entire boardroom gasped.
Bianca did not wear a wig to hide what had been done to her. She wore a stunning, tailor-made emerald green maternity suit that beautifully framed her heavily pregnant belly. Her head was shaved smooth, emphasizing her high cheekbones, striking dark eyes, and absolute lack of fear. She walked into the room like a queen entering her court, holding a thick leather dossier under her arm.
Victoria stood up so fast her chair screeched against the floor. "How dare you bring that creature in here?! Security!"
"The security guards are mine, Victoria," Roman said coldly, stepping up beside his wife. "And they answer to the CEO."
Bianca walked straight to the center of the table, placing the heavy dossier down with a sharp, resonant thud. She looked around at the powerful men in the room, her voice clear, commanding, and smooth as ice.
"Good morning, gentlemen," Bianca said, her Queens roots giving her tone an unshakeable, grounded authority. "I am Bianca Kane, Chief Operating Officer of my own life, and the wife of your CEO. Before you proceed with Mrs. Kane's vote, I suggest you open the folders in front of you."
With a nod from Roman, his assistants distributed identical black folders to every board member.
Victoria’s face drained of color. "Don't touch those! This is a violation of—"
"Page four," Bianca interrupted calmly, leaning her hands on the polished table. "You will find forensic accounting records detailing twenty-four million dollars moved from the Kane Children's Hospital Fund into a shell company in Panama over the last six years. Authorized exclusively by Victoria Kane."
The board members began frantically turning pages, murmurs of shock erupting around the table.
"Page twelve," Bianca continued, her gaze locking onto Victoria, who was now trembling visibly. "You will find the original, unredacted last will and testament of Charles Kane. Sealed twenty years ago by Mrs. Kane's private attorneys. It explicitly states that fifty-one percent of voting control transfers instantly to Roman Kane upon the birth of his first child."
"That... that document is a forgery!" Victoria shrieked, pointing a shaking finger at Bianca. "She's a liar! A gold-digger from the gutters of Queens!"
"The forensic team at the Department of Justice doesn't think it's a forgery," Roman added, his voice cutting through his mother's panic like a razor. "They received a duplicate copy two hours ago, along with the offshore bank statements. Federal agents are currently waiting in the lobby downstairs."
Victoria collapsed back into her chair, her regal posture entirely shattered. She looked around the table at the men who had obeyed her for decades, but every single one of them looked away, refusing to make eye contact with a fallen monarch.
Bianca leaned across the table, getting close to Victoria. The silence in the room was absolute.
"You tried to strip away my dignity in front of your friends because you thought my background made me weak," Bianca whispered, her voice carrying an lethal edge. "But growing up with nothing teaches you how to look for structural flaws. You built your life on money and fear, Victoria. I built mine on work. And today, your building collapses."
Two federal agents in dark suits pushed through the glass doors, holding a warrant.
As they placed Victoria Kane under arrest for corporate fraud, embezzlement, and conspiracy, Roman didn't look at his mother once. His entire focus was on Bianca. He gently wrapped his arm around her waist, supporting her weight as she suddenly winced, clutching the bottom of her stomach.

Roman’s icy demeanor vanished in an instant, replaced by raw panic. "Bianca? What is it?"
Bianca gasped, a small smile breaking through her pain. "Roman... I think your daughter decided she wanted to see her mother win."
