Chapter 6 - The Vision of LoveTwo days later, the sun shone brightly through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the private suite at the Voss estate.

Nora sat in a comfortable armchair in the center of the room. Her hands were folded in her lap, her chest rising and falling in rapid, excited breaths. Sitting around her were Dr. Chen, Dean Marsh, and Ghost, who lay quietly at her feet.

Julian stood directly in front of her chair, his heart pounding harder than it ever had during any mob war or shootout.

Dr. Chen stepped forward with surgical scissors, carefully snipping the white gauze bandages wrapped around Nora’s head.

"Now, Nora," Dr. Chen instructed gently. "Take it slowly. Your eyes haven't processed light in six years. Keep them closed until I remove the final layer, then open them gradually."

Nora nodded silently.

The last layer of gauze fell away.

For a moment, Nora kept her eyes closed. The room was completely silent, save for the soft ticking of the mantel clock and Ghost’s steady breathing.

"Nora?" Julian called out softly, his voice trembling.

Nora slowly parted her eyelashes.

At first, everything was a blinding, overwhelming blur of pure white light. She gasped, blinking rapidly, her tears clearing away the blurriness. Shapes began to form—the rich dark mahogany of the walls, the green leaves of the conservatory plants outside, the silver brass of Ghost’s collar.

She looked down at her feet.

Ghost raised his broad head, his dark brown eyes looking up at her.

"Ghost..." Nora sobbed, her hand reaching down to cup her dog’s face. "Oh, Ghost... you're so big... you're so handsome..."

The dog let out a happy, warbling huff, licking her palms enthusiastically.

Then, Nora slowly lifted her head. She looked up at the tall man standing directly in front of her.

Julian Voss stood in the sunlight. He wore a dark blue suit, his broad shoulders squared, his handsome face carved with a mixture of raw tension and profound, trembling hope.

And then she looked into his eyes.

They were steel-gray, brilliant, and filled with a devotion so pure it took her breath away. She recognized those eyes instantly—not from sight, but from the soul that lived behind them.

"Julian..." Nora whispered, tears streaming freely down her radiant cheeks as she stood up from the chair.

Julian took a step forward, his broad arms reaching out as Nora threw herself into his embrace. He lifted her off her feet, pulling her flush against his chest, burying his face in her dark, fragrant hair.

"Can you see me, Nora?" Julian choked out, tears finally breaking past his own eyes. "Can you see me?"

Nora pulled back slightly, her soft hands cupping his face, her thumbs gently tracing the sharp line of his jaw—the same contours she had learned in the dark.

"I see you, Julian," Nora smiled, her dark eyes shining with absolute, everlasting love. "I see your strength... I see your heart... and I see my father's gift living through the man I love."

Julian leaned down and pressed his lips against hers in a deep, passionate kiss that sealed two broken lives into one whole, magnificent future.

Outside the grand windows, the spring sun shone brightly over Providence, illuminating a world that was no longer defined by shadows, debts, or fear—but by the miraculous, everlasting light of truth and love.
