Chapter 5 - Reckoning at the Estate

The San Marcos processing plant was a massive complex nestled in the lush green hills where the finest coffee beans in Mexico were refined. Rain lashed down as Guillermo’s men poured gasoline over the central storage silos containing millions of dollars of harvest and thirty years of original land deeds.

Guillermo stood on the upper catwalk, holding a flare, his face illuminated by the flickering emergency lights.

"Pour it all!" Guillermo shouted down to his men. "Burn every file!"

Suddenly, the massive steel doors of the processing bay were ripped off their hinges with a violent metallic screech.

A heavy industrial tow truck equipped with a reinforced steel plow smashed directly through the security gates. Behind it rolled five modified pickup trucks, blocking every exit of the facility.

Sebastián stepped out of the lead truck, wielding a heavy iron wrench in one hand and a radio comms unit in the other.

"Guillermo!" Sebastián’s voice echoed off the steel rafters of the warehouse. "Drop the flare!"

Guillermo looked down from the catwalk, sneering at the young man standing amid the steam and roaring engines.

"Look at you," Guillermo laughed maniacally. "A grease monkey wearing my family's suit! You think a collarbone mole makes you an Alcázar?"

"No," Sebastián replied, stepping onto the metal stairs leading up to the catwalk. "The fact that I survived your trash makes me an Alcázar."

Guillermo signaled his two remaining bodyguards. They drew their weapons and opened fire down the stairs.

Sebastián dove behind a heavy steel sorting machine as sparks flew off the iron casing. Behind him, his mechanic crew used high-pressure industrial fire hoses aimed at Guillermo's thugs, blasting them off their feet with four hundred pounds of water pressure.

Mateo’s tactical team swept through the lower floors, disarming the arsonists and securing the gasoline canisters before any spark could catch.

Sebastián charged up the catwalk stairs during the chaos. Guillermo’s primary bodyguard lunged at him with a combat knife. Sebastián ducked under the blade, caught the man's wrist, and used a classic lever technique to break his grip, tossing the guard over the safety railing into a pile of soft bean sacks thirty feet below.

Guillermo backed up toward the edge of the highest platform, realization finally hitting him. He was completely cornered.

"You can't touch me, boy," Guillermo panted, his hand hovering over the lit flare. "I built this company! I am the blood of this land!"

"You didn't build anything," Sebastián said, walking toward him with steady, measured steps. "You stole from a grieving mother and locked an innocent kid in a shed. You're not a businessman, Guillermo. You're just a coward who's afraid of hard work."

Guillermo screamed and lunged forward, trying to thrust the burning flare into Sebastián's face.

Sebastián sidestepped the attack with lightning speed, grabbed Guillermo’s arm, and twisted it behind his back, forcing him face-down onto the cold steel grid of the catwalk. The flare tumbled harmlessly into a vat of water below, extinguishing with a hiss.

"It’s over, Uncle," Sebastián whispered cold into his ear.

Sirens wailed in the distance as dozens of federal police cruisers surrounded the plant, their red and blue lights cutting through the rain.
