Chapter 2 - The Airport BetrayalTwo weeks later, Julian announced a sudden, solo trip to Chicago for an "exclusive investor summit." He packed lightly, kissed Clara goodbye, and left early in the morning.

Driven by an uneasy intuition, Clara checked their shared flight rewards portal. Julian wasn't flying to Chicago. He was booked on a first-class flight to Zurich—with Vanessa.

Clara hired a driver and arrived at Logan International Airport within an hour. Disguised in dark sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat, she slipped into the terminal's exclusive executive lounge where international passengers waited.

Sitting behind a high-backed leather chair, Clara saw them. Julian and Vanessa were standing near a floor-to-ceiling window, champagne glasses in hand, laughing intimately.

Then Julian stepped away to answer a phone call. He stood barely three feet from Clara's divider, speaking in a low, distinct voice to his attorney.

"Everything is set," Julian whispered into the phone, a cold smirk audible in his voice. "By the time we land back in the States next week, the false paper trail will be locked in. She’ll take the fall for the missing twelve million. Clara will lose the company, her house, her inheritance—everything. She won't know what hit her."

Listening to those words, Clara felt a cold wave wash over her. Her husband wasn't just stepping out on her; he was actively framing her for corporate embezzlement to wipe her out completely and launch a new life with Vanessa.

Clara did not scream or cause a scene. She pulled out her phone, turned on the voice recorder, and captured the rest of his phone conversation. As Julian ended the call and embraced Vanessa, Clara walked out of the airport with a cold, absolute resolve.
