CHAPTER 1 — The Face He Never Forgot

Dr. Robert Wright stared at the newborn as tears filled his eyes.
The room fell silent.
Joanna’s heart immediately tightened.
“Doctor?” she asked weakly. “What’s wrong with my baby?”
Robert quickly wiped his eyes.
“Nothing,” he said, though his voice trembled. “Your son is healthy.”
But he couldn't stop looking at the child.
The tiny nose.
The dark hair.
The small birthmark near his left ear.
A birthmark Robert had seen before.
On his own son.
Logan.
For a moment, Robert felt as if time had collapsed.
Because the newborn in front of him looked exactly like the baby he had held nearly thirty years earlier.
“What's his name?” Robert asked quietly.
Joanna smiled through tears.
“Noah.”
Robert nodded.
Then he glanced at the mother's chart.
And froze.
Father: Logan Wright.
The room suddenly felt too small.
Too warm.
Too real.
Because Robert knew exactly who Logan Wright was.
His son.
May you like
The son he had not spoken to in over two years.
And now the grandson he never knew existed was lying in front of him.
