Chapter 6 - A New Dawn at Romano's

The snow began to fall just as evening settled over Lexington, dusting the city streets in a clean, blinding white blanket that covered every scar, every old alley, and every dark memory of the past.
At Romano’s Restaurante, the chandeliers blazed with warm, inviting light.
The restaurant was closed to the public tonight, but inside, the tables were set with crystal glasses, fine china, and red roses. The air was rich with the smell of roasting garlic, fresh herbs, and osso buco simmering slowly in a rich, savory broth.
At the center table sat Sylvio Romano.
Across from him sat Luna, dressed in a dark velvet dress with a white lace collar, her eyes wide with delight as the waiter—the very same chef who had prepared the meal two months ago—proudly placed a steaming plate of homemade pasta before her.
Around the room sat Marco, Vincent, and Eddie, laughing quietly, sharing stories, and treating the evening not as a gathering of capos and enforcers, but as a family dinner.
Sylvio raised his glass of deep red Barolo wine, catching the eye of every man at the table before turning his gaze to the little girl who had changed the trajectory of his entire existence.
“To new beginnings,” Sylvio said, his voice ringing clear and steady through the quiet room. “And to the people who remind us why we fight to survive.”
“To new beginnings,” the room echoed in unison.

Luna raised her glass of sparkling cider, her face glowing in the warm candlelight.
As the snow fell softly against the reinforced glass windows outside, Sylvio smiled, knowing that the shadows of his past were finally gone, buried beneath a future built on mercy, redemption, and love.
