Chapter 6 - The Empire We BuiltThree years later, the Grayhaven waterfront looked entirely different.

The rusted, violent docks of the past had been transformed into a gleaming, multi-billion-dollar international shipping and trade hub, co-managed by the Duca Syndicate and the Bennett-Duca Design House. The corruption had been purged, the street violence replaced by ironclad business contracts and legitimate enterprise.

Inside the grand master suite of the Duca estate overlooking the harbor, the morning sun poured through towering glass windows.

Clara stood in front of a massive, three-way antique mirror, wearing a breathtaking wedding gown of ivory silk, midnight-blue velvet accents, and delicate, hand-sewn silver thread. She looked magnificent, powerful, and radiantly happy, her full figure draped in a masterpiece of her own design.

Behind her, Adrien stood dressed in a sharp black tuxedo, fastening his cufflinks. He watched her reflection in the mirror, his dark eyes softening with an adoration that stunned anyone who knew his terrifying reputation.

He walked up behind her, wrapping his strong arms around her waist, resting his chin comfortably on her shoulder.

“Are you ready, Mrs. Duca?” he whispered softly against her ear.

Clara smiled, turning her head slightly to press a kiss against his cheek, her hand resting over the platinum sapphire band on her left ring finger—matching the one securely on his.

“Ready,” Clara said, her voice filled with quiet power. “Let’s go show the city what a real empire looks like.”

Together, the mafia king and the brilliant seamstress walked out of the room, stepping hand-in-hand into a future they had sewn together with their own hands, unbreakable and entirely free.
