Chapter 6 - The Queen of Blackwood ManorSix months later.

Spring had arrived in Philadelphia, bringing warm sunlight, blooming cherry blossoms, and clear blue skies over the grounds of Blackwood Manor.

The grand ballroom, once the site of violence and cruelty, had been completely transformed. White roses and pastel hydrangeas draped from the crystal chandeliers. Soft, romantic harp music floated through the air, welcoming two hundred of the most influential people in the country.

This time, there were no whips, no cruel whispers, and no arrogant socialites looking down on the staff.

Emily, the young assistant who had once shaken with fear, was now the head event coordinator for Blackwood Manor, walking around with a proud clipboard and a confident smile, wearing a beautiful navy dress.

At the front of the altar stood Ronan Blackwood.

He wore a tailored black tuxedo with a white rose pinned to his lapel. He looked impossibly handsome, his dark eyes fixed intently on the heavy oak doors at the back of the room.

The harp music shifted into a majestic wedding march.

The grand doors swung open.

A collective gasp echoed through the ballroom.

Ivy Lancaster walked down the aisle, leaning proudly on the arm of Don Falcone, who had happily agreed to walk her down the aisle in honor of her late father.

She was a vision of breathtaking beauty.

Her wedding gown was a masterpiece of off-the-shoulder French lace and shimmering satin, custom-designed to celebrate every rich curve of her full figure. The sweetheart neckline accentuated her bust, while the fitted waist flared into a dramatic, sweeping train that glided over the white carpet. Her dark brown hair fell in glossy, elegant curls around her shoulders, crowned by a delicate diamond tiara.

She wasn't hiding. She wasn't shrinking. She was glowing.

When she reached the altar, Don Falcone placed her hand into Ronan’s.

Ronan looked at her, his dark eyes filled with tears he didn't bother to hide. He leaned down and whispered softly so only she could hear: “You are the most beautiful sight I have ever seen in my life.”

“You look quite handsome yourself, Mr. Blackwood,” Ivy teased softly.

“It’s Ronan,” he smiled, his hand squeezing hers tightly. “Forever.”

The priest began the ceremony, but for Ronan and Ivy, the words were just a gentle background hum to the profound, unspoken promise between their hearts. They had survived cruelty, corporate war, class prejudice, and attempted murder. They had rebuilt each other’s worlds from the ground up.

When the time came for the vows, Ronan took both of Ivy’s hands in his.

“Ivy,” Ronan said, his deep voice carrying clearly through the silent room. “I used to believe that power was built on fear, control, and isolation. Then you walked into my life with your sharp mind, your brave heart, and a grace that put this entire city to shame. You showed me that real power is the ability to protect the people you love. I give you my heart, my empire, my name, and my life. From this day forward, you are my wife, my partner, and my queen.”

Ivy wiped a tear of joy from her cheek, her smile radiant.

“Ronan,” she said softly, looking deep into his eyes. “You saw me when I was invisible. You protected me when I was hurt, and you gave me a voice when the world wanted me silent. You loved me for exactly who I am. I promise to stand by your side through every storm, to love you without reservation, and to build a life filled with joy, peace, and unwavering loyalty. You are my home.”

“By the power vested in me,” the priest announced, smiling broadly, “I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!”

Ronan didn't wait a single second.

He wrapped his strong arms around Ivy’s waist, lifting her slightly off her feet, and pulled her into a passionate, sweeping kiss that made the entire room burst into thunderous applause and cheers.

Ivy laughed against his lips, wrapping her arms around his neck as he set her back down gently.

Hand in hand, Mr. and Mrs. Ronan Blackwood turned to face their guests.

The plus-size maid who had once bled on the marble floor now stood at the pinnacle of society—not because she had conformed to their world, but because she had conquered it with her heart, her intellect, and the unyielding love of the man who worshipped the very ground she walked on.

As they walked down the aisle together into the warm afternoon sunshine, Ivy looked up at her husband, knowing that her life of fear was over forever.

She was home. She was loved. She was Queen.
