PART 2 — THE MAN WHO KNEW HER NAME

The flight crew immediately contacted the cockpit.
An emergency landing was requested.
Jessica knelt beside Amara, trying to stop the bleeding.
But something else was bothering Amara.
Something much worse.
Derek wasn't acting like a man who had lost control.
He was acting like a man who had completed a task.
Then he looked directly at her and smiled.
"Agent Jackson."
The words froze her blood.
Amara had never told him her name.
She had only shown her badge.
Yet somehow he knew exactly who she was.
Jessica stared.
"How does he know you?"
Derek leaned back comfortably.
"They told us you'd be on this flight."
Us.
Not me.
Us.
The word hit Amara like another punch.
This wasn't random.
It wasn't road rage.
It wasn't prejudice.
Someone had sent him.
Someone had known her travel plans.
Someone had known she was pregnant.
And someone wanted to hurt her.
A notification suddenly appeared on Derek's phone.
Jessica accidentally saw it.
So did Amara.
The message read:
"Did she lose the baby?"
The cabin seemed to stop breathing.
Jessica looked horrified.
Amara felt ice spread through her chest.
Now she knew.
The attack had been planned.

Her unborn daughter had been the target.
And somewhere outside that plane, someone powerful was waiting for news that her child was dead.
