Chapter 5 - The Fall of EnzoThe wedding took place on a crisp Saturday morning in the private chapel of the De Santis estate, exactly thirty days after Carlo’s death.

There were no tabloids. No paparazzi. Just the twelve senior capos of the syndicate, Moretti the attorney, and the silent weight of an empire restored to its rightful heirs.
Livia walked down the aisle not in a traditional white meringue gown, but in a structured, breathtaking ivory silk suit with tailored trousers and a cascading lace train—a modern queen walking to her coronation.
Massimo stood at the altar, waiting for her. When she reached his side, he took her hand, his grip warm, firm, and entirely devoted.
As the priest pronounced them husband and wife, the heavy chapel doors banged open.
Enzo stormed down the aisle, his face pale, his hair disheveled, looking like a man who had completely lost his mind. Behind him stood two federal agents with a federal arrest warrant.
“You can’t do this!” Enzo screamed, pointing a shaking finger at Massimo. “The offshore accounts... the regulatory filings... they’ve been seized by the Anti-Mafia Directorate! You rigged the succession!”
Massimo didn't even flinch. He slowly stepped in front of Livia, shielding her with his body, and turned to face his cousin with a cold, devastating smile.
“We didn't rig anything, Enzo,” Massimo said, his voice ringing clearly off the stone walls of the chapel. “We simply handed over your financial records to the authorities. Turns out, laundering syndicate money through shell companies in the Cayman Islands is a federal offense.”
Enzo lunged forward, but the two federal agents intercepted him instantly, slamming handcuffs onto his wrists with a heavy, metallic click.
“You ruined me!” Enzo shrieked as they dragged him down the aisle. “You’re both dead! You hear me? Dead!”
As the heavy oak doors closed behind Enzo, locking him out of the estate forever, absolute silence settled over the chapel.
Moretti stepped forward, holding a single, unsealed document. He bowed slightly toward Massimo and Livia.

“The thirty-day conditional period has successfully elapsed,” Moretti announced formally. “The controlling shares, international shipping holdings, and private trusts of the De Santis estate are now permanently and unconditionally transferred to Massimo and Livia De Santis.”
Massimo looked down at his wife. The crown was theirs. The empire was secure.
