Chapter 6 - The Light of Day

Two years later.
Elena stood in the sunlight of her balcony, watching her son, Leo, chase a butterfly in the garden. She was now the Director of the Emergency Department, the youngest in the hospital's history. She wore her white coat not because she needed to prove anything to anyone, but because she loved the work.
She had built a life that was entirely her own. There was no one to dim her light. No one to question her medical judgment. No one to make her feel small.
A friend walked up behind her, handing her a cup of coffee. "Big day?"
"The biggest," Elena smiled.
She had recently received word that Preston had moved to a different state, working in a clinic with no prestige, his glory days behind him. He wasn't a threat anymore; he was a memory.
Elena looked down at her son, then back at the horizon. She had survived the darkness, the pain, and the betrayal. She had forged herself into something newâa woman who wasn't just surviving, but thriving.

She picked up her son, kissed his forehead, and walked back inside, ready to face the world on her own terms. The trauma of the past was finally just a story she could look back on, knowing that she had been the one to write the ending.
The End.
