Part 1: The Perfect Facade

In the opulent halls of the Harrington Estate, everything appeared perfect. Victoria Harrington, a 55-year-old elegant socialite with perfectly styled blonde hair and a string of pearls, ruled her family with an iron fist disguised as grace. Her son, Richard, 45, had recently married Sophia — a beautiful 38-year-old woman with dark wavy hair and a gentle spirit.
On this particular Sunday afternoon, the family gathered in the grand living room. Sophia, still in her delicate white lace nightgown after a long night helping with charity preparations, served tea. Victoria watched her with cold eyes.
Without warning, Victoria stood up, grabbed the ornate teacup, and poured the scalding liquid directly onto Sophia’s chest and neck. Sophia screamed in pain as the hot tea burned her skin, leaving angry red marks. She collapsed onto the Persian rug, gasping.
Richard stood frozen in the background, hand over his mouth in horror. “Mother… what are you doing?!”
Victoria’s face twisted with rage. “You think you can replace me? You gold-digging little nobody! You will never be part of this family!”

Sophia lay on the floor, tears mixing with the steaming liquid running down her chest. The pain was unbearable, but the humiliation cut deeper. Victoria had never accepted her — from the beginning, she saw Sophia as a threat to her control over Richard and the family fortune.
This was only the beginning of Victoria’s campaign of terror.
