Chapter 3 - THE FINANCIAL DISMANTLING

While Victoria and Lewis were being booked into the Miami-Dade County Jail without bond, Robert and I turned our attention to the financial infrastructure that had allowed the Dudley family to prey on our daughter.

At 10:00 a.m., Robert’s legal team, led by top corporate litigator Evelyn Sterling, convened in the high-rise offices of Keane Enterprises.

I sat beside Robert at the head of the conference table. For the first time in ten years, the bitterness and resentment of our old divorce had completely melted away, replaced by a singular, fierce focus: protecting our child.

"Evelyn," Robert commanded, "I want every account, every shell company, every business partner, and every asset tied to the Dudley family audited, exposed, and dismantled by sunset."

Evelyn opened a thick leather dossier. "We’ve already begun, Robert. Because Lewis used his law firm’s trust account to process the fraudulent earnest money for the wedding venues, we’ve filed an emergency petition with the Florida State Bar."

"And?" I asked, leaning forward.

"The Bar Association has suspended his legal license effective immediately," Evelyn revealed with a cold smile. "Furthermore, we contacted the offshore creditors in the Bahamas. When they learned that Lewis had been arrested for felony extortion, they immediately accelerated his loan defaults. They are filing emergency seizure motions on the Dudleys' primary residence in Coral Gables as we speak."

Just then, Marcus Vance entered the room, carrying a stack of financial documents.

"Boss," Marcus said, laying the papers before us. "We found the six women who participated in the assault with Victoria."

My heart hammered against my ribs. "Who are they?"

"They are members of Victoria’s private social committee—wealthy, high-society women who regularly helped Victoria execute high-interest private loan schemes targeted at young heiresses," Marcus explained, his expression dark. "They call themselves the 'Biscayne Circle.' They thought their social standing made them untouchable."

"Do they have names?" Robert asked quietly.

"We have all six," Marcus confirmed. "Three of them are married to prominent real estate developers who hold active construction contracts with Keane Enterprises."

Robert picked up his phone, dialed a three-digit extension, and placed it on speaker.

"John," Robert said when his VP of Operations answered. "Cancel Contracts 402, 509, and 612 immediately. Pull all funding from the Biscayne Bay Development project."

"Sir?" the VP responded in shock. "That’s over forty million dollars in active work! The contractors will go bankrupt!"

"Then tell them to ask their wives why they spent last night beating my daughter in a hotel room," Robert commanded, his voice cold as ice. "Cancel them now."

He hung up the phone.

I reached across the table and placed my hand over Robert’s. He looked at me, his eyes softening for a split second as he squeezed my fingers.

"We aren't just taking their money, Sarah," Robert promised me softly. "We are going to make sure that when this is over, the name 'Dudley' is a stain no one in this state will ever stand near again."
