Chapter 6 - The Unbroken Light

One year later.
The quiet seaside town was dusted in a light blanket of fresh winter snow. Warm yellow lights glowed softly from the windows of our coastal estate, casting a cozy ambiance across the frosted lawn.
Inside the spacious living room, a roaring fire crackled in the stone fireplace.
The room was filled with the soft, magical atmosphere of a quiet family evening. Christmas decorations adorned the mantelpiece, and a tall pine tree stood in the corner, sparkling with golden lights and hand-painted ornaments.
Lily, now five years old, was sitting on the thick rug near the fire, happily building a wooden castle with Viktor, who was surprisingly patient as he helped her stack the tiny wooden blocks with his massive, scarred hands. Marcus sat in an armchair nearby, sipping hot chocolate and laughing at Viktor’s overly serious architectural advice to the little girl.
I stood by the large bay window, holding a small white bundle wrapped in a warm fleece blanket.
Inside the blanket slept our newborn son, Gabriel.
He had dark hair just like his mother, and his tiny chest rose and fell in a peaceful, steady rhythm. He was healthy, strong, and completely safe.
Clara walked up beside me, carrying two mugs of warm spiced cider. She handed one to me and leaned her shoulder against mine, looking down at our sleeping boy.
"He looks just like you when you're thinking," Clara teased softly, bumping her shoulder against mine.
"I hope he gets your heart, Clara," I replied, looking down at her with endless love. "The world has enough fighters. It needs more people who know how to heal."
Clara smiled, sliding her arm through mine. "He will have both. He has a father who proved that love is stronger than any darkness."
We stood together by the window, watching the soft snowflakes fall gently against the glass.
Outside, the world was cold and vast. The shadows of the past—the violence, the syndicates, the greedy men who thought they could destroy us—had been swallowed by time and justice. They were nothing more than ash scattered by the wind.

Inside, surrounded by the warmth of the fire, the laughter of our daughter, the loyalty of true friends, and the gentle breathing of our newborn son, there was only light.
I took Clara’s hand, holding it tight against my chest, knowing that no matter what storms might ever blow across the ocean, our family was unbroken, unyielding, and forever at peace.
