Chapter 3 - THE COLLAPSE OF THE DYNASTYBy midnight, the glittering glass headquarters of Harrisons Global in downtown Seattle looked like a ghost town struck by an earthquake.

Inside the executive boardroom, Arthur Harrison—Brad’s father and the patriarch of the family—panned frantically across three different computer monitors, his face sheet-white. His expensive silk tie was loosened, and his breathing came in ragged, panicked gasps.
"It's gone," Arthur whispered hoarsely, staring at the flashing red error screens. "All of it. Every account is frozen. The liquidity pools have been drained. Who did this? Which bank has this kind of leverage?"
The boardroom doors slammed open.
Three federal marshals, flanked by private security contractors wearing the same unmarked tactical gear from Blackwood Lake, marched into the room. A tall, impeccably dressed corporate liquidation lawyer named Vance—one of Marcus’s chief legal strategists—walked behind them, carrying a thick leather briefcase.
"Arthur Harrison?" the attorney asked, his voice smooth and clinical.
"I am Arthur Harrison! You have no right—this is corporate harassment! I demand to speak to my attorneys—"
"Your attorneys dropped your account twenty minutes ago when they realized your retainer was funded by illicit shell companies," the lawyer interrupted, placing a stack of legal documents onto the polished mahogany table with a heavy thud. "By order of the federal bankruptcy court and the primary debt holder—Carver-Rainer Holdings—Harrisons Global is hereby seized for immediate liquidation."
"Carver-Rainer?" Arthur stumbled backward, his knees hitting the executive leather chair. "That's... that's Marcus Carver's holding company. That's impossible. Marcus operates in international shipping and defense tech. He doesn't care about local real estate!"
"He cares about his niece," a deep voice echoed from the doorway.
Marcus stepped into the boardroom, his dark overcoat trailing behind him like a shroud of bad weather. He didn't look like a corporate executive; he looked like an executioner walking onto a battlefield.
Arthur stared at him in sheer disbelief, the pieces finally clicking together in his terrified mind. "You... you're Claire's family? The quiet ones? The ones Brad always laughed at for being 'out of touch'?"
"My sister chose a quiet life for her daughter because she wanted her to know what normal human warmth felt like," Marcus said, walking slowly toward the head of the table and placing his palms flat on the wood. "We allowed you to maintain your little illusion of aristocratic dominance because we thought you were harmless."
Marcus leaned forward, his dark eyes boring straight into Arthur’s soul.
"Then your sons tried to drown a pregnant woman for social media views. And your idiot son stood there filming it."
"We can settle this!" Arthur cried out, panic finally breaking his composure as he lunged forward, grabbing the edge of the table. "Name your price! Property, cash, shares—take everything! Just let the boys go!"

"Your sons are currently sitting in concrete cells where the sun doesn't reach," Marcus said coldly. "And your corporate empire is currently being dismantled by algorithms written before you were even out of college. By sunrise, the name Harrison won't even be able to rent a motel room in this state."
Marcus turned his back on the broken patriarch, walking toward the private elevator. "Have the marshals escort him out. The building is scheduled for demolition-grade clearance by noon."
