PART 6: The Ultimate Trap Recoils

Down in the school parking lot, two black SUVs had just pulled up, blocking Diego’s luxury sedan. Several armed agents wearing jackets with the federal logo of the UIF and the Attorney General’s office stepped out.
Diego’s phone began to ring frantically. He answered it with a trembling hand. It was his senior office manager.
"Diego! The feds are here! They have a warrant! They are freezing all corporate accounts, all personal accounts linked to you and your mother! They’re seizing the servers!"
Diego dropped his phone. It clattered against the principal's linoleum floor.
Doña Teresa panicked, her elegant facade completely gone. "This is a mistake! Do you know who I am? Do you know who we work for?"
"I know exactly who you work for, Doña Teresa," Mariana said, stepping directly into the older woman's personal space. The sheer physical presence of Mariana, refined by decades of elite martial training, radiated an overwhelming pressure that forced Teresa to step back until her spine hit the wall. "And so do the federal authorities. You wanted to teach me who is in charge in this house? Let me teach you a lesson from the dojo: Never provoke someone who knows how to use your own weight to break your neck."
The office door burst open, and federal agents walked in, presenting arrest warrants for Diego Ramírez and Teresa Ramírez for suspected money laundering, tax evasion, and fraudulent asset seizure.

Diego looked at Mariana, his eyes filled with a mixture of profound terror and disbelief. As the handcuffs clicked around his wrists, the man who had pulled out his seatbelt just weeks ago to terrorize his new bride was now weeping openly, begging his mother to fix it. But Teresa was already being led away in handcuffs, her head bowed to avoid the gaze of the teachers and students gathering in the hallways.
The attorney who had accompanied them quietly packed his briefcase and slipped out the back door, wanting absolutely nothing to do with the sinking ship.
