Chapter 6 - A New LegacyOne year later.

The summer sun beamed down over the manicured gardens of the Romano estate. The rose bushes were in full bloom, casting sweet scents into the warm ocean breeze coming off the bay.
On the stone patio overlooking the water, a large wooden table was set for a private celebration.
Sitting in a high chair at the head of the table was one-year-old Arthur, giggling happily as he smashed a soft piece of birthday cake into his mouth. He was a vibrant, healthy boy with dark curls and bright, curious blue eyes.
Sitting beside him was Willow, now ten years old, dressed in a beautiful yellow summer dress, patiently wiping cake crumbs from Arthur’s chin with a napkin.
"Careful, Arthur," Willow laughed softly. "You're getting frosting on your suit!"
Across the table, Clara sat sipping ice tea, looking radiant and peaceful. Over the past year, she had transformed the Romano Foundation into one of the most effective charitable organizations in the region, building modern nurseries and healthcare facilities for working-class families across the city.
Leo walked out onto the patio, carrying a tray of fresh lemonade. He wore a simple white linen shirt and dark trousers, completely relaxed, the dark shadow of his past fully cleared away.
He set the tray down and walked over to Arthur, lifting his son into his arms and tossing him gently into the air, making the toddler shriek with delight.
"Happy first birthday, my boy," Leo whispered, kissing Arthur's cheek before sitting down beside Clara.
"He gets more mischievous every day," Clara smiled, reaching across the table to squeeze Leo’s hand. "Just like his father."
"He's going to grow up in a very different world than I did," Leo said softly, looking out at the calm, sparkling waters of the bay. "No lies. No stolen inheritances. Just family."
Leo looked over at Willow, who was currently showing Arthur a new wooden toy horse she had painted for his birthday.
"Willow," Leo called out gently.
Willow looked up, her dark eyes shining brightly. "Yes, Mr. Romano?"
"You know you don't have to call me Mr. Romano anymore," Leo said, his eyes filled with warmth and deep affection. "You're family here."
Willow smiled, a beautiful, genuine expression that lit up her entire face. "Okay... Leo."
Leo sat back in his chair, wrapping his arm around Clara’s shoulders, watching his son play with the little girl who had saved his life.

Two years ago, in a dark, silent nursery, a small whispered warning had exposed a web of corruption that threatened to destroy everything. But from the ruins of that lie, a true family had been born—stronger, braver, and bound together not just by blood, but by unyielding love.
And as the golden afternoon sun settled over the estate, Leo knew that the Romano legacy was finally safe.
