Chapter 5 - The Heir to the Monroe Legacy

Two weeks later, the delivery room at St. Jude’s Hospital wasn't filled with tension or legal threats—only bright lights, quiet medical efficiency, and the overwhelming sound of new life.

When the obstetrician finally lifted the squalling, healthy baby girl into the air and announced, “She’s here, perfectly healthy, ten out of ten on the Apgar scale,” Darius felt a hot tear slip down his cheek.

He held Sienna’s hand tighter as the nurse cleaned the baby and wrapped her in a soft pink blanket before placing her gently against Sienna’s chest.

“Look at her,” Darius whispered, his voice choked with emotion. “She has your eyes, Sienna. Exactly your eyes.”

Sienna smiled, exhausted but radiant, her fingers gently touching the baby’s thick, dark curls. “Welcome to the world, little miracle,” she whispered to the tiny face looking up at her with bright, curious eyes. “You are so loved.”

Outside the delivery room, Mr. Ade waited patiently by the elevators, holding a massive bouquet of yellow roses—Sienna’s favorite. When Darius stepped out into the hallway to share the news, the loyal driver nearly dropped his keys.

“Sir? Is everything…?”

“It’s a girl, Ade,” Darius said, a massive, uncontainable smile breaking across his face for the first time in months. “Mother and baby are both doing fantastic.”

Ade pressed his hands together in deep gratitude. “To God be the glory, sir! What wonderful news!”

“Thank you, Ade,” Darius said, clapping the older man warmly on the shoulder. “You’re officially an uncle now. Make sure everyone back at the Lekki estate prepares the biggest welcome feast Lagos has ever seen.”

As Ade hurried off to spread the good news, Darius looked back through the glass window of the recovery room at his wife and daughter. The sun was rising over Victoria Island in the distance, casting its golden rays across the skyline. The old empires of pride, cruelty, and inherited arrogance were crumbling away, but right here, in this quiet room, a new legacy had finally begun—built not on glass and steel, but on forgiveness, resilience, and unconditional love.
