Chapter 6 - A Bright HorizonOne year later.

The Rossi penthouse was no longer a cold, quiet fortress of secrets and fear. The dark, heavy drapes had been removed, replaced with soft, golden silk that let the morning sun fill every corridor. Laughter and music often echoed through the halls, and the domestic staff—now paid the highest wages in the state—worked with genuine smiles and pride.

It was a brilliant Sunday morning.

The grand cathedral downtown was surrounded by sleek black luxury vehicles, guarded by professional Rossi security team members wearing crisp suits and warm expressions. Inside, the sun streamed through majestic stained-glass windows, casting vibrant shades of ruby, sapphire, and gold across the marble aisle.

Soft organ music swelled through the vast hall as the heavy double doors opened.

Chloe walked down the aisle on the arm of her proud father, whose health had completely recovered thanks to the top-tier medical care Gabriel had provided.

Chloe was breathtaking. She wore an exquisite, hand-embroidered ivory lace gown that trailed gracefully behind her. Her long dark hair was styled in an elegant updo, crowned by a delicate diamond tiara. In her hands, she carried a bouquet of white roses and jasmine.

At the altar stood Gabriel.

He wore a tailored black tux with a white silk bow tie. His dark hair was neatly styled, his jaw freshly shaven, and his tall, imposing frame radiating pure, unadulterated pride. As he watched his bride walk toward him, the feared mafia lord—a man who had spent his life surrounded by violence—had clear, sparkling tears of joy running down his face.

Beside him stood Levi as his best man, smiling warmly as Chloe reached the altar.

Chloe's father gently placed her hand into Gabriel's. Gabriel took her small hand in his large, warm grip, leaning close to whisper against her ear.

"You look like an angel, my little hawk," he murmured softly.

"And you look like a man who finally knows how to wear a tie," she whispered back with a playful, brilliant smile.

The Archbishop led the ceremony, his voice echoing warmly through the historic cathedral.

"Do you, Gabriel Rossi, take Chloe Mercer to be your lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part?"

Gabriel looked deeply into Chloe's eyes, his voice ringing out clear, strong, and absolute through the entire cathedral.

"I do. With all my heart and soul."

"And do you, Chloe Mercer, take Gabriel Rossi to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

Chloe squeezed his hands, her eyes shining with absolute love. "I do."

"By the authority vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife," the Archbishop declared with a warm smile. "What God has joined together, let no man put asunder. You may kiss the bride!"

Gabriel didn't hesitate. He pulled Chloe gently into his arms, dipping her slightly as he brought his lips down onto hers in a deep, passionate kiss. The entire cathedral erupted into resounding applause, cheers, and celebration.

Later that evening, the reception was held at the magnificent Rossi estate overlooking the ocean.

As the sun began to set, painting the sky in breathtaking shades of pink, gold, and purple, Gabriel and Chloe stepped away from the roaring party on the main lawn, walking hand in hand out onto the quiet stone balcony overlooking the crashing waves below.

The cool evening sea breeze stirred Chloe’s dress. She leaned back comfortably against Gabriel’s broad chest as his strong arms wrapped securely around her waist, anchoring her against him.

"Happy?" Gabriel asked softly, resting his chin gently on top of her head.

Chloe lifted her hand, admiring the way the setting sun caught the sparkling diamond ring on her finger. She turned her head slightly to look up into the dark, loving eyes of the man who owned her heart.

"I'm completely happy, Gabriel," she replied softly, tracing her fingers gently along his strong jawline. "We built something beautiful out of the dark."

Gabriel smiled—a true, radiant smile that warmed his entire face. He leaned down, pressing his forehead gently against hers, inhaling the sweet scent of jasmine and ocean air.

"No matter what comes next, Chloe," Gabriel whispered, his voice rich with eternal devotion. "I will spend the rest of my life watching your hands, protecting your heart, and loving you."

May you like

Chloe smiled softly, closing her eyes as his lips met hers once again under the quiet, starry sky.

The ghost had become a queen, the monster had found his redemption, and together, they stepped forward into a bright, beautiful future filled with unshakeable love.
