Chapter 6 - The Unwritten BlueprintThe storm eventually broke, as all storms do. When Alejandro held a press conference, he didn't just defend Mariana’s work—he displayed it. He laid out the blueprints, the cost analyses, and the vision of what these homes meant for the people of the city. He invited the journalists to walk through the construction site, to see the homes being built, and to talk to the families who were on the waiting list.

The narrative shifted from scandal to a story of vision, resilience, and transformation.

Six months later, the complex was inaugurated. It wasn't just a building; it was a neighborhood, filled with parks, communal gardens, and the laughter of children.

On the day of the opening, the plaza was packed.

Mariana, wearing a soft, professional suit, stood on the stage, her hand tucked into Alejandro’s arm. Renata and Camila were running through the grass, chasing a balloon, finally looking like the children they had always deserved to be.

Alejandro looked at the crowd, then at Mariana. He realized he didn't want to be the tycoon who walked alone anymore.

"They’re cheering for you," he whispered to her.

"They’re cheering for us," she corrected, resting her head against his shoulder.

"What now, Mariana?" Alejandro asked, feeling the weight of the city, the past, and the uncertainty of the future melt away. "What are we going to build next?"

Mariana looked at the girls, then at the man who had rescued her, only to be rescued in return.

"I don't know," she said with a bright, beautiful smile. "But for the first time in my life, I’m not afraid to draw the plans."

The sun set behind the skyline of Mexico City, casting long, golden shadows across the new homes. It was a city of steel and stone, yes, but for the first time, it felt like a home—a place built on the firm, unshakable foundation of two people who had found each other in the rubble, and decided to build something that would last.
