Chapter 6 - A View of TomorrowOne year after the terrible afternoon at the crematorium, the sun shone brightly over a charming, single-story house in the coastal town of Santos, just an hour outside São Paulo.

Fresh ocean breezes blew through the open windows, carrying the sweet scent of jasmine and salt air.
In the backyard, a small wooden crib stood under the shade of a large mango tree. Inside it, a healthy, chubby thirteen-month-old baby boy with bright brown eyes and a mop of dark hair was giggling joyfully, playing with a plush blue elephant.
Miguel was thriving. He was walking, babbling his first words, and filling every corner of the home with light and laughter.
Marcos walked out onto the wooden deck carrying two glasses of fresh lemonade, handing one to Dona Helena, who sat happily on a rocking chair, knitting a tiny wool sweater.
"Look at him, Marcos," Helena said, her eyes glistening with tears of joy as she watched her grandson reach for a falling leaf. "He has her eyes. The exact same shade of warm hazel."
"I know," Marcos smiled, kneeling beside the crib and lifting Miguel into his arms. He lifted the boy high into the air, making him burst into a fit of delightful giggles. "He has her spirit, too. Tough, resilient, and full of life."
Marcos walked with Miguel to the edge of the garden, where a simple, beautiful white marble bench sat surrounded by blooming yellow roses. Mounted on the center of the bench was a silver plaque that read:
Ana Clara Almeida — A mother’s love defies even death itself.
Marcos set Miguel down on the soft grass beside the bench. The little boy reached out his small hand, touching the polished silver plaque with his tiny fingers, letting out a happy little coo.
"Say hello to Mommy, Miguel," Marcos whispered softly, sitting down beside him and pulling his son close to his chest.

The gentle ocean wind rustled the leaves above, dropping a single yellow rose petal softly into Miguel's lap.
Marcos closed his eyes, feeling a deep, profound sense of warmth encompass his heart. The pain of the past, the dark nightmare of the crematorium, and the greed that tried to destroy them were gone forever—replaced by the unbreakable bond of a father's love, a son's future, and the eternal grace of a mother who gave everything to give her child a second chance at life.
