Chapter 6 - A Bright Future

Three years later.

The morning sun glistened off the glass facade of the Vance Corporate Headquarters. The top floor was bustling with executives, but the atmosphere changed instantly when the private elevator chimed.

Vivienne stepped out, looking stunning in a tailored emerald green power suit. Her hair was styled perfectly, her posture commanding and confident. She was no longer the timid, quiet girl who hid in the shadows to please a mediocre husband. She was now the Vice President of the Vance Group, actively running the international real estate division.

Holding her hand was a bubbly, energetic three-year-old girl with a bright smile. Victoria was dressed in a cute little trench coat, carrying a miniature briefcase that her grandfather had custom-made for her.

"Good morning, Ms. Vance! Good morning, Little Boss!" the staff greeted them warmly.

"Good morning, everyone," Vivienne smiled, walking toward the grand corner office.

Sitting at the massive mahogany desk was Alexander, who immediately stood up and knelt down to catch Victoria as she ran into his arms. "There’s my favorite CEO!" he laughed, lifting the little girl into the air.

"Grandpa! I brought my briefcase! I have important meetings today!" Victoria giggled.

"Of course you do, sweetheart. We're reviewing the new resort designs in Europe," Alexander said, kissing her cheek before handing her over to a trusted nanny who led her to the attached playroom.

Alexander walked over to Vivienne, pouring her a cup of fresh espresso. "You look incredible, Viv. Big day today. The charity gala at the refurbished Grand Hotel is tonight."

"I'm ready for it, Dad," Vivienne said, taking a sip. "The hotel looks beautiful. We completely erased any trace of the old ballroom architecture."

"Good," Alexander nodded. "By the way... I thought you should know. I received an update from our legal team this morning. Chloe Montgomery was released on parole last week. She’s currently working a minimum-wage job at a dry cleaner’s on the outskirts of the state. Dominic is working as a low-level dispatcher for a third-party delivery service. They are entirely irrelevant."

Vivienne paused for a moment, looking out the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sprawling city skyline. For years, those names would have caused a tight knot of anxiety in her chest. Now? They felt like characters from a book she had read a long time ago.

"Thank you for telling me, Dad," Vivienne said, a gentle, genuine smile forming on her lips. "But honestly? I don't care. They don't exist in my world anymore."

That evening, the grand reopening of the Vance Heritage Hotel was a spectacular success. The ballroom—completely redesigned with modern luxury, soaring crystal installations, and brilliant, warm lighting—was filled with the true elite of the world. Royalty, top-tier philanthropists, and international leaders gathered to celebrate the Vance Foundation's latest charity initiative.

Vivienne stood at the center of the room, looking breathtaking in a magnificent gold evening gown. She was engaged in a deep, intellectual conversation with a brilliant young architect who respected her mind, her leadership, and her vision for the future.

As the music played and laughter filled the air, Vivienne looked across the room and saw her father holding little Victoria, who was waving a small gold sparkler, her eyes wide with wonder.

Vivienne raised her glass of champagne to her family, her heart full of peace, love, and absolute triumph. She had survived the storm, she had reclaimed her crown, and her future was brighter than the most brilliant diamond in the world.
