Chapter 6 - Spring on the EstateThree months later, the bitter Boston winter had melted away, replaced by the brilliant, vibrant green of a New England spring. Dogwood blossoms bloomed along the winding iron gates, and the morning sunlight streamed warm and golden through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the nursery.

Vincent Moretti stood by the crib, watching with a soft, genuine smile as six-month-old Luca cooed and batted his tiny hands at a mobile turning above him.
Footsteps approached softly from behind, and a pair of warm arms wrapped gently around Vincent’s waist.
He turned, looking down into Isabella’s bright, healthy face. The pallor and exhaustion were completely gone, replaced by a radiant strength and a deep, unshakeable peace. She wore a light summer dress, and her step was firm and steady as she leaned her head against his shoulder.
“The pediatrician called,” Isabella said softly, a playful smile touching her lips. “He said Luca’s development is off the charts. And my cardiovascular stamina test came back completely clear.”
Vincent wrapped his arms securely around her, pulling her close against his chest. “I told you. You’re the strongest person I know, bellissima.”
“Because I finally had someone willing to tear down the walls I was too blind to see,” Isabella whispered, looking up into his eyes with deep, abiding love.
She reached up, pressing her hand against his cheek, and kissed him tenderly.
Downstairs, the estate was peaceful. The cameras were fully functional, the staff was loyal, and the shadows of the past had been swept away by the unwavering devotion of a husband who had turned his empire inside out to protect his family.
