Chapter 5 - The Ultimate Takedown

The courtroom fell into an absolute, breathless silence as the security footage began to play.
Patricia’s confident smile slowly withered away as her loud, screeching voice filled the room. The judge watched intently as Patricia snatched the stuffed rabbit from Martina, threw it across the room, and explicitly threatened Rosa with planting a stolen diamond necklace in her apartment to destroy her life.
"Fast forward to timestamp 10:15 AM, please," Christopher instructed the bailiff.
The screen shifted to a different angle—the master bedroom. The footage showed Patricia entering my private study after the girls had been sent upstairs. She opened my desk drawer, pulled out the checkbook for the household operational account, and used an electronic signature stamper she had secretly manufactured to authorize a massive wire transfer to her offshore account.
"As you can see, Your Honor," Christopher stated, his voice echoing with absolute authority, "Miss Gable's behavior isn't 'discipline.' It is extortion, emotional abuse of minors, and premeditated grand larceny. We have also provided bank validation from the Cayman Islands showing the destination of the stolen funds."
Patricia’s primary attorney looked down at his desk, his face turning an deep shade of red. He whispered frantically to Patricia, who looked completely paralyzed. Her mother took a sharp step back away from her daughter, realizing that the family name was now irrevocably tied to a exposed criminal.
Judge Harris leaned forward, her eyes blazing with absolute fury as she looked down at Patricia.
"Miss Gable," the judge said, her voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "In my twenty-five years on this bench, I have rarely seen an exhibition of such calculated cruelty and deception. You didn't just abuse the trust of the man you intended to marry; you weaponized your position to terrorize two young children who have already lost their mother."
"Your Honor, please—" Patricia stammered, standing up, her voice cracking. "It was a mistake... I was under immense stress—"
"Silence!" Judge Harris slammed her gavel down with a resounding crack that made everyone flinch.
"I am denying the defense's motion for dismissal with absolute prejudice. I am granting a permanent, lifetime restraining order against Miss Patricia Gable. She is to remain no less than one thousand feet away from Mr. Castillo, his daughters, their school, and any property owned by the Castillo estate."
The judge paused, looking directly at the district attorney's representative sitting in the back row.
"Furthermore, I am referring these files immediately to the criminal division for grand larceny, forgery, and child endangerment. Bailiff, Miss Gable is to be taken into custody immediately pending formal arraignment."
Bang. The gavel fell for the final time.
Two police officers stepped forward, pulling Patricia’s hands behind her back as the metal handcuffs clicked into place. She let out a sharp, hysterical shriek, looking toward her mother for help, but her mother turned her back completely, walking out of the courtroom to avoid the flashes of the press cameras waiting outside.

As Patricia was led past our table, she glared at me, her eyes filled with tears of rage. "You ruined my life, Adrian!" she screamed.
I didn't answer. I didn't need to. I simply turned my back on her, picked up my briefcase, and walked out into the warm afternoon air, leaving the nightmare behind forever.
