Chapter 5 - The ReckoningThe next forty-eight hours were a blur of police sirens, interrogations, and the slow, agonizing dismantling of Grant’s life. Tessa Lane was the first to fold. Under the pressure of the evidence—and the threat of accessory to murder charges—she turned on Grant with a viciousness that would have impressed a shark. Jenna put a hand on my shoulder. "It's done, Claire."

"Is it?" I asked.

I looked at the empty hallway. The fear that had defined my life for the past year—the fear of dying, the fear of betrayal—was gone. It had been replaced by a quiet, steady resolve. I had survived the cancer, and I had survived the marriage.
