Chapter 2 - The Officers and the EvidenceThe lead officer, a seasoned veteran named Sergeant Miller, stepped into the sunlit foyer with his partner, scanning the tense room with practiced caution. Christopher immediately lunged forward, playing his role to perfection, his voice shaking with feigned terror.

"Officer! Thank God you're here! My wife—she's having a complete psychotic break, she's destructive, she attacked the kitchen and threatened us!" Christopher babbled, pointing a trembling finger at Savannah.

Beatrice nodded solemnly from the kitchen island, dabbing a dry eye with a linen napkin. "It’s true, officer. The poor girl hasn't been stable in months. You need to remove her immediately before someone gets hurt."

Savannah remained entirely silent. She didn't shout over Christopher’s performance. She simply stepped forward, bypassed her husband entirely, and handed Sergeant Miller her open laptop and the slim blue folder.

Sergeant Miller looked down at the screen. The display showed a detailed forensic financial ledger flagged with federal bank routing numbers, alongside an embedded security video clip from the exact moment Christopher had hurled the mug of boiling tea during her live executive board meeting.

Sergeant Miller’s eyes narrowed. He scrolled through the ledger, then flipped open the blue folder. His gaze shifted from the documents to the legally binding pre-nuptial and asset-segregation rider attached to the home's deed—a document Christopher had lazily signed three years ago during a corporate bailout without ever reading the fine print.

The arrogant smile slowly vanished from Christopher’s face. The color drained from his skin as he noticed the sudden shift in the officer's posture.

Sergeant Miller looked past Christopher, his voice dropping to a cold, official register. "Mr. Huxley, your wife hasn't had a psychotic break. But according to these verified financial disclosures and real-time bank records, you have systematically embezzled over ninety thousand dollars in corporate and marital funds, committed wire fraud, and assaulted a homeowner on her own explicitly titled property."

Christopher stumbled backward, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. "That's... that's impossible! This house is ours! She's lying!"

"The deed is registered solely under Savannah Marlowe-Huxley via protected inheritance trust," Sergeant Miller stated calmly, resting his hand on his utility belt. "And as for the assault on camera... Mr. Huxley, you're under arrest."
