Chapter 4 - Stripping the Fortress

Over the next forty-eight hours, the legal and financial machinery of the Beltrán Hospitality Group went into overdrive.

Adrián summoned his head legal counsel, Attorney Valeria Rios, along with a team of forensic accountants from a top-tier international firm, setting up a command center in his home study.

"We've uncovered the full scope of Esteban’s fraud," Valeria reported, spreading thick binders across the table. "Over the past eighteen months, Esteban forged your corporate signature on six separate credit facilities, transferring roughly eighty-five million pesos into a network of shell companies registered in Panama and the Cayman Islands."

"And Lorena's involvement?" Adrián asked, sipping a cup of black coffee.

"Lorena opened three private offshore accounts under her maiden name," Valeria revealed. "Esteban was funneling monthly payments of two hundred thousand pesos directly to her to ensure her silence and cooperation in keeping Doña Teresa isolated from your personal staff. Furthermore, we discovered that Lorena signed a prenuptial amendment document six months ago using a forged notary stamp, attempting to secure fifty percent of your corporate stock in the event of a divorce."

"Take it all down," Adrián ordered coldly. "File civil suits for total recovery of assets, freeze every account bearing their names, and initiate emergency sole-custody proceedings for Mateo and Bruno."

"And the criminal trial?" Valeria asked.

"Push for the maximum sentence on every single count," Adrián replied without hesitation. "Aggravated elder abuse, corporate embezzlement, forgery, fraud, and unlawful restraint. I want no plea bargains, no reduced sentences, and no bail."

That afternoon, Adrián took another decisive step. He called for a complete restructuring of his personal life. He dismissed the entire domestic household staff who had been hired by Lorena over the past year, replacing them with a highly vetted team recommended directly by Officer Carlos Vargas and Dr. Mendoza.

He then ordered the total renovation of the ground floor of the mansion. The marble floors were fitted with elegant, non-slip wooden overlay; custom ramps were installed alongside short steps; and a luxurious, sunlit suite was designed specifically for Doña Teresa, featuring floor-to-ceiling garden views, a specialized hydrotherapy bath for her knee and spine, and an adjoining room for her full-time physical therapist.

By Friday morning, news of the scandal had hit the financial pages of Mexico City’s major newspapers. The arrest of a prominent CFO and a socialite wife sent shockwaves through the business community, but Adrián met the public scrutiny with unyielding transparency. He issued a short, powerful corporate press release detailing the discovery of internal fraud, reinforcing the stability of Beltrán Hospitality Group, and publicly declaring his total devotion to protecting his family from criminal exploitation.

Standing in the central courtyard of the estate as contractors worked quietly to transform the house into a true sanctuary, Adrián felt the crushing weight of the past two days slowly transform into a profound, razor-sharp clarity.

He was no longer just a businessman running a corporate empire. He was a son protecting the root of his existence.
