Chapter 6 - The Sun Over ManhattanSix months later.

The early summer sun bathed Central Park in brilliant shades of green, gold, and sapphire. A soft, warm breeze drifted through the trees, carrying the sweet scent of blooming roses and fresh grass.
In the private garden behind a historic brownstone mansion near the park, a small, elegant celebration was under way.
Standing near a white wooden gazebo was Margaret Brooks. She wore a lovely pastel pink dress, sitting in a comfortable armchair, smiling happily as she held a small sketchbook. Beside her stood Dr. Arthur Vance, pointing out the flowers in the garden. Thanks to the advanced medical protocol, Margaret’s cognitive decline had stabilized remarkably; while her memory was still fragile, her days were full of peace, clarity, and joy.
Playing on the green lawn nearby was eight-year-old Sophie Moretti. She was glowing with health, her long dark hair tied in ribbons, laughing merrily as she chased a tiny Golden Retriever puppy around the grass.
Standing near the stone patio, holding a glass of sparkling cider, was Emma.
She wore a breathtaking, custom-made ivory lace dress that hugged her soft curves in all the right places, flowing gracefully to her feet. Her brown hair fell in soft ringlets over her shoulders, and her hazel eyes sparkled with a radiance that lit up the entire garden.
On her left hand, catching the summer sunlight, was a stunning vintage platinum ring set with a brilliant emerald-cut diamond.
Standing behind her, his strong arms wrapped gently around her waist, was Gabriel.
He wore a tailored navy suit, looking relaxed, happy, and younger than he had in a decade. Over the last six months, Gabriel had systematically dismantled the illegal arms of his empire, transitioning all Moretti holdings into fully legitimate international logistics, real estate, and philanthropic foundations. Don Mateo Valetti and his enforcers were currently serving long federal prison sentences, their organization completely erased from New York City.
Gabriel rested his chin gently on Emma’s shoulder, kissing her cheek. "What are you thinking about, Mrs. Moretti?"
Emma smiled, leaning back against his chest, her hand resting over his on her waist. "I was thinking about the night of the storm. How I was walking home in soaked shoes, wondering if my life was ever going to change."
Gabriel chuckled softly, his deep voice vibrating warmly against her back. "And now?"
Emma turned around in his arms, wrapping her hands around his neck, looking up into the dark, loving eyes of her husband.
"Now I know that the darkest nights lead to the brightest mornings," Emma said softly.
"Emma! Daddy! Look!" Sophie called out, running up to them on the grass, holding the fluffy puppy in her arms. "Barnaby learned how to sit!"
Gabriel and Emma both laughed, kneeling down on the soft grass together to join Sophie and the puppy. Margaret looked over from her chair, clapping her hands gracefully with a bright, beautiful smile.
Marco DeLuca stood near the garden gate, wearing a sharp suit, a relaxed smile on his face as he watched the family play on the lawn.
Gabriel looked across at Emma, taking her hand in his, their fingers intertwining tightly beneath the bright, warm sun.
