Chapter 6 - The Empress's Vow

One year later.
The private island of Saint-Barthélemy in the Caribbean was bathed in crystal-clear sunlight and the gentle sound of turquoise waves crashing against white sand shores.
The entire island had been closed off for the wedding of the decade.
Inside a luxurious oceanfront villa, Marisol stood before a floor-to-ceiling mirror, putting the finishing touches on her wedding attire.
She wore a breathtaking, custom lace gown designed by the world's premier fashion house. The dress featured a long, magnificent train that flowed behind her like foam on the ocean waves, delicate lace long sleeves, and an open back that displayed her flawless skin.
Beside her stood Camila, radiant and healthy in a maid-of-honor dress, walking easily without a cane or walker.
"You look like an angel, Mari," Camila wiped a tear from her eye, handing Marisol her bouquet of white orchids and gold-tipped palm leaves.
"I feel happy, Cami," Marisol whispered, looking at her sister in the mirror. "Truly, deeply happy."
A soft knock sounded at the door.
Dante stepped into the room. He wore a crisp white linen suit, looking impossibly handsome, his dark eyes instantly locking onto his bride.
Camila smiled, giving Dante a quick hug before leaving the room to give them privacy. "Don't make her late, brother-in-law!"
Dante walked slowly across the floor toward Marisol. When he reached her, he didn't say a word for a long moment. He simply reached out and took her hands in his, looking down at her with a reverence that took Marisol’s breath away.
"You are breathtaking," Dante rasped softly.
"You're not so bad yourself, Mr. Moretti," Marisol teased gently, her gray eyes sparkling with love.
Dante smiled, reaching up to gently trace the jawline of the woman who had conquered his heart.
"Before we walk out there," Dante said, pulling a small folded piece of paper from his pocket, "I want to show you something."
Marisol opened the paper.
It was a deed. A deed to a massive oceanfront property in Southern California, registered under the name THE VEGA RECOVERY CENTER FOR WOMEN.
"It is a fully funded medical and housing complex," Dante explained softly. "For women and young girls coming out of poverty, offering free healthcare, job training, and shelter. It is fully endowed in your name."
Marisol looked up at him, her heart overflowing with so much love it felt as though it would burst from her chest. "Dante... this is... this is incredible."
"You taught me that power isn't just about destroying enemies, Marisol," Dante said softly, kissing her forehead. "It's about building a fortress for the people you love."
Ten minutes later, beneath a grand archway of white roses and orchid blossoms overlooking the turquoise ocean, Marisol and Dante stood hand in hand.
Over three hundred guests—heads of state, reformed allies, and beloved friends—watched as the priest pronounced them husband and wife under the warm Caribbean sun.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the priest declared with a warm smile. "You may kiss the bride."
Dante leaned down, wrapping his strong arms around Marisol, and kissed her deeply, lovingly, as the crowd erupted into thunderous applause and cheers.
Later that evening, as the stars filled the tropical sky, a grand banquet was held on the white sand beach. Music filled the warm breeze, lanterns glowed softly, and guests danced near the quiet waves.
Marisol stood at the edge of the water, her silk train lifted slightly in her hand, letting the cool ocean waves lap gently against her bare feet.
She wasn't afraid of the water anymore.
Dante walked up behind her, sliding his arms around her waist, pulling her back against his broad chest. They stood together, looking out at the endless dark ocean beneath the starry night.
"Cold?" Dante whispered into her ear.
"No," Marisol smiled, leaning her head back against his shoulder, holding his massive hands over her stomach. "I have never been warmer in my life."
She looked at her finger, where the pink diamond and her new platinum wedding band caught the silvery light of the full moon.
She had started her journey shivering in the cold rain outside a mansion that treated her like trash. She had been thrown into a pool to be humiliated by people who thought money gave them the right to crush souls.
Now, standing in the arms of the man who loved her more than life itself, holding an empire built on honor, love, and protection, Marisol knew the truth.
The water hadn't drowned her. It had washed away her past and given her the world.
Dante turned her in his arms, kissing her softly beneath the stars.
"To forever, my queen," Dante murmured against her lips.
May you like
"To forever, my king," Marisol whispered back.
And under the quiet canopy of the tropical stars, surrounded by peace, power, and an unshakeable love, the former waitress and the mafia kingmaker began their forever—untouchable, triumphant, and whole.
