Chapter 6 - A Legacy of LoveSix months later.

The summer sun shone brightly over the lush, emerald-green lawn of the Long Island estate. The scars of the winter siege had been completely erased. The mansion had been restored, brighter and more beautiful than ever before, surrounded by new gardens and top-tier security systems.

The Rossi Syndicate had undergone a massive restructuring. With the Moretti faction completely dismantled and the Chicago bosses surrendering all territorial claims, Lorenzo had transitioned his family’s empire into legitimate shipping, real estate, and global philanthropy networks.

On the grand lawn overlooking the ocean, hundreds of guests sat in white chairs decorated with fresh lilies and white roses.

Standing at the altar beneath a floral archway was Lorenzo Rossi. He looked handsomer than ever in a tailored navy tuxedo, his dark eyes shining with pure joy. Beside him stood Marco as his best man.

The wedding march began to play.

Every guest stood up, turning toward the rose garden path.

Walking down the aisle on the arm of a senior retired judge who had become a close family mentor was Hunter.

She took everyone’s breath away. She wore a stunning, floor-length lace gown with an off-the-shoulder neckline, her dark hair styled in soft, elegant curls. Her cheeks were flushed with healthy color, her eyes glowing with absolute happiness.

Behind her, carrying a small satin pillow with the wedding rings, was nine-month-old Leo.

He was walking! Supported gently by Mrs. Gable on one side, tiny Leo wobbled down the runner in a hilarious, adorable mini-tuxedo, his chubby cheeks and bright, laughing eyes stealing the hearts of everyone present.

When Hunter reached the altar, Lorenzo stepped forward, taking her hands in his. His grip was warm, solid, and filled with deep devotion.

"You look like an angel," Lorenzo whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

"I'm just a girl who found her home," Hunter smiled softly, tears of joy sparkling in her eyes.

The priest began the ceremony, speaking words of love, resilience, and new beginnings. When it came time for the vows, Lorenzo looked directly into Hunter’s eyes.

"Hunter," Lorenzo said, his voice carrying across the quiet lawn. "You walked into my life when I was surrounded by darkness, blood, and despair. You saved my son’s life, but in doing so, you saved mine too. I promise to honor you, protect you, and love you with every beat of my heart for the rest of my days."

Hunter felt a tear slip down her cheek as she squeezed his hands.

"Lorenzo," Hunter spoke, her voice clear and strong. "I thought my heart was broken forever when I lost my baby girl. But you and Leo showed me that love doesn't end in tragedy—it heals. You gave me a family, a home, and a love deeper than I ever dreamed possible. I am yours, completely and forever."

"By the power vested in me," the priest announced with a warm smile, "I now pronounce you husband and wife. Lorenzo, you may kiss your bride."

Lorenzo didn't hesitate. He pulled Hunter into his arms, dipping her slightly as he pressed his lips to hers in a deep, passionate, and joyful kiss.

The crowd erupted into thunderous applause, cheering and throwing white rose petals into the air.

Leo wobbled over to their legs, letting out a delighted, squealing giggle and reaching his tiny arms up. Lorenzo laughed warmly, breaking the kiss to scoop his son up into one arm while wrapping his other arm securely around his new wife's waist.

They turned to face their guests—not as a mob boss and a maid, but as a family bound by love, resilience, and an unbreakable bond.

As the sun began to set over the sparkling Atlantic Ocean, casting a warm golden light across the estate, Hunter rested her head on Lorenzo’s shoulder, watching their healthy, happy son laugh in his father's arms.

She knew that whatever challenges the future might bring, the dark shadows of the past were officially gone forever. They had survived the fire, and in its ashes, they had built a legacy of pure, unshakeable love.
