Chapter 6 - A Bright Tomorrow
Two years later.
The new Alcázar R&D Center was inaugurated under a brilliant autumn sun. The building was a masterpiece of modern architecture, featuring open spaces, natural light, tactile navigation paths for the visually impaired, and stunning interior gardens designed entirely by Mariela Torres—now the head of design and senior partner at the firm.
In the grand lobby, a plaque hung proudly on the wall, commemorating the company's rebirth. Beneath it stood a small, framed illustration drawn by a seven-year-old girl: a tall man with kind eyes, a smiling woman in a designer suit, and a little girl holding a golden watch transformed into a shining sun.
Mariela stood beside Santiago, her hand resting comfortably in his. They wore matching wedding bands that caught the bright midday light.
Sofía ran up to them, holding a small trophy she had just won in her school art contest. "Mom! Santiago! Look!"
Santiago scooped her up effortlessly into his arms, tossing her into the air with a laugh that echoed through the sunlit atrium. Sofía squealed with delight, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"You earned that trophy, kiddo," Santiago said, setting her down gently. "Though I think your art skills are starting to rival your mother's."
