Gabriel called a press conference. He didn't hide. He sat before the cameras, with Claire beside him—not as a trophy, but as his partner. He addressed the "incident." He admitted his temper but laid out the evidence of the harassment Madison had engaged in, showing the full, uncut footage of the soda being dumped.
He pivoted the conversation. He announced that the Moretti foundation would be donating millions to anti-bullying charities and community initiatives—specifically targeting the food banks Claire had always supported.
He didn't make himself a hero; he made himself a human. The public, fickle as ever, turned on Madison and embraced the couple who had risen above the petty cruelty of the digital age.
Months later, they stood on the balcony of their home. The storm had passed. Madison had vanished into obscurity, her brand destroyed not by a mob boss, but by her own arrogance and the light of public scrutiny.
Gabriel wrapped his arms around Claire from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder.
"You changed everything," he whispered.
"No," Claire said, leaning back into him. "I just made you look at the world differently."
