Chapter 5 - The RescueThe nursing home was chaos. With the board of directors arrested and the media surrounding the building, I walked into Lillian’s room. She looked smaller than she had the first time I saw her, but when she saw me, her eyes cleared with a terrifying, lucid intensity.

"Adrian," she said, her voice raspy but steady.
"I’m taking you home, Mom," I said, ignoring the protesters and the police tape outside.
"They’ll kill you for this," she whispered, clutching my hand.
