Chapter 5 - The Fall of the Conspirators"Richard... you're... you're walking?" Ethan stammered, his voice cracking as he stared at his brother as if he were seeing a ghost.

"I haven't been paralyzed for six months, Ethan," Richard said evenly, walking slowly and deliberately toward the projection screen at the front of the room. "Thanks to an aggressive physical recovery, my body healed. But thanks to you, Chloe, and mother's private nurse, my evening meals were systematically laced with neuro-toxins designed to keep me weak, sluggish, and compliant while you looted my company."

"That's a lie! He's delusional! The medication is prescribed by his doctors!" Eleanor shrieked, slamming her palms onto the glass table, her imperious composure finally shattering completely.

"Is it?" Maya stepped forward, plugging the small encrypted flash drive into the boardroom’s media console.

With a few taps on the keyboard, audio files began playing through the high-definition surround-sound speakers. The crystal-clear recording of Ethan and Chloe discussing the forged proxy signatures, the offshore shell accounts, and the tampered brakes on Richard’s car filled the room.

The board members sat frozen, their expressions shifting from shock to absolute outrage. Arthur Pendelton, the senior independent board director, stood up slowly, glaring directly at Eleanor and Ethan.

"This is corporate treason and attempted murder," Pendelton declared, his voice trembling with fury. "Security! Lock down this floor and call federal authorities immediately."

Ethan lunged toward the console in a desperate attempt to rip the flash drive from the port, but two corporate security guards—alerted in advance by Maya’s encrypted digital dispatch—intercepted him instantly, pinning him against the glass wall and snapping steel handcuffs around his wrists.

Chloe burst into hysterical tears, sinking into a chair as federal marshals, accompanied by local police, poured through the boardroom doors.

Eleanor stood frozen in her seat, her face hollow and defeated, realizing that her lifelong favoritism toward her younger son had resulted in total, unmitigated destruction.

As Ethan was dragged past Richard, he glared at his brother with venomous hatred. "You'll never get away with this! We're family!"

"Family doesn't cut a man's brakes," Richard replied coldly, watching without an ounce of pity.

Within minutes, the conspirators were escorted out of the building. The boardroom was quiet once more, save for the steady hum of the city outside.

Richard turned around, leaning slightly against the edge of the mahogany table, and looked at Maya. The storm had passed, leaving behind a profound, unshakeable calm.
