PART 1 — PROTOCOL WINTER

Daniel thought he had thrown a helpless woman into the cold.
He never imagined he had just declared war on the woman who secretly owned everything beneath his feet.
Snow continued to fall as Elena stood outside the mansion with ten-day-old Rose sleeping against her chest and little Leo crying inside his carrier. Every step hurt. Her cesarean incision burned beneath her coat, but she refused to cry.
Behind the glass doors, laughter echoed through the house.
Vivian Harrow raised a champagne glass.
"I told you she'd come crawling back before midnight."
Daniel smirked.
"She has nowhere else to go."
Neither of them knew the mansion itself belonged to Elena.
For three years, Elena had hidden her identity as the billionaire CEO of Vale Global Holdings. She wanted someone to love her for who she was, not for her fortune. Daniel had seemed different when they met. He admired her artwork, listened to her dreams, and promised to build a family together.
Everything changed after the wedding.
His mother criticized everything Elena did—her clothes, her cooking, even the way she spoke. Daniel never defended her. When Elena became pregnant with twins, Vivian's cruelty only grew worse.
Tonight, after accusing Elena of cheating, Vivian demanded that Daniel throw her out.
He obeyed without hesitation.
Standing in the freezing night, Elena opened the hidden pocket inside the diaper bag and removed a tiny emergency phone.
Only one number was saved.
The call connected immediately.
"Madam?"
"Activate Protocol Winter."
The voice on the other end became serious.
"Against whom?"
"My husband. His mother. Harrow Automotive."
"Understood."
"And send Mara."
"She'll reach you in six minutes."
Elena ended the call and gently kissed both babies.
"You'll never have to beg anyone," she whispered.
Across the city, every executive inside Vale Global Holdings received the same emergency alert.
Protocol Winter Activated.
Within minutes, emergency orders spread through the company.
Suspend Harrow Automotive's credit lines.
Freeze acquisitions.
Recall outstanding loans.
Review ownership of Harrow family assets.
No questions.
No delays.
Everyone understood what Protocol Winter meant.
Someone had crossed the Chairwoman.
Black SUVs arrived exactly six minutes later.
Mara Bennett stepped out first.
She had protected Elena for over a decade and instantly noticed the blood soaking through Elena's coat.
"They threw you out like this?"
Elena nodded.
"The babies come first."
Mara carefully lifted Leo into a heated carrier while nurses helped Elena into the vehicle.
Inside, warmth surrounded them.
A doctor checked Elena's wound.
"You should never have been outside."
"I didn't have a choice."
"You do now."
Meanwhile, inside the mansion, Daniel and Vivian celebrated.
"My lawyer says she'll get nothing," Daniel said confidently.
Vivian laughed.
"A poor designer can't fight this family."
Daniel raised his glass.
"Tomorrow, I'll finally be free."
Just then, his phone vibrated repeatedly.
He ignored every notification.
At Harrow Automotive headquarters, executives weren't celebrating.
Their largest supplier canceled shipments.
Then another.
Three banks suspended financing.
Major investors demanded emergency meetings.
No one understood why everything was collapsing overnight.
By sunrise, Elena had been treated at a private medical center owned by Vale Global.
Rose and Leo slept peacefully beside her.
Mara entered with a tablet.
"The first phase is complete."
She handed Elena a report.
Supplier contracts canceled.
Credit lines frozen.
Legal ownership of the Harrow mansion confirmed under one of Elena's trusts.
Mara smiled.
"They evicted the legal owner of their own house."
Elena remained calm.
"No media attacks."
"They deserve public humiliation."
"My children don't."
Mara nodded with respect.
"As always."
At 8:30 the next morning, Daniel walked into Harrow Automotive expecting an ordinary workday.
Instead, every executive looked terrified.
The CEO called an emergency meeting.
Before anyone spoke, the large screen in the conference room turned on.
The silver logo of Vale Global Holdings appeared.
A woman in a tailored suit smiled calmly.
"Good morning. I'm Victoria Grant, Executive Vice President of Vale Global."
"As of this morning, Vale Global has acquired a controlling interest in Harrow Automotive."
The room fell silent.
Daniel laughed nervously.
"That's impossible."
Victoria continued.
"The previous majority shares were legally transferred after a defaulted loan."
She paused before delivering the final sentence.
"The new Chairwoman will address the company shortly."
The screen went black.
Daniel suddenly remembered Elena's calm expression as she disappeared into the snow with their children.

For the first time since throwing her out, an unfamiliar feeling settled in his chest.
Fear.
