PART 3 – THE REVEAL

Daniel barely slept.
Every time he closed his eyes, he saw Elena standing in the snow with the twins wrapped inside her coat.
He told himself she would be fine.
She had probably found a shelter.
She would call eventually.
Yet a strange feeling in his chest refused to disappear.
The next morning, every executive at Harrow Automotive gathered in the main conference hall.
No one spoke above a whisper.
Rumors had spread overnight.
Some claimed a foreign corporation had bought the company.
Others believed a billionaire investor was planning mass layoffs.
At exactly nine o'clock, the lights dimmed.
The doors opened.
Victoria Grant walked in first, followed by several lawyers and security officers.
Everyone stood.
"Good morning," Victoria said. "Our new Chairwoman will join us shortly."
The room fell silent.
Outside, a black sedan pulled into the underground garage.
Mara opened the rear door.
Elena stepped out wearing a tailored navy suit.
Her makeup concealed the exhaustion from childbirth, but nothing could hide the quiet strength in her eyes.
"Are you ready?" Mara asked.
Elena looked down at a photo of Rose and Leo on her phone.
"I've been ready for a long time."
Inside the conference hall, Daniel checked his watch impatiently.
The doors opened once more.
High heels echoed across the polished floor.
Daniel looked up.
His face instantly lost all color.
"...Elena?"
The room froze.
Vivian's daughter Chloe, who worked in marketing, gasped.
"No... that can't be..."
Elena walked calmly to the front without looking at Daniel.
Victoria smiled.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honor to introduce the Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer of Vale Global Holdings..."
She paused.
"...Ms. Elena Vale."
Applause filled the room.
Only Daniel remained frozen in his seat.
His mind refused to accept what he was seeing.
The quiet woman he had mocked...
The wife his mother called a "nobody"...
Was the billionaire who now owned the company.
Elena faced the room.
"Thank you for coming."
Her voice was calm, steady, and unmistakably confident.
"I know the last twenty-four hours have been difficult."
She glanced around the room.
"Harrow Automotive will continue operating. No factories will close. No employee will lose a job because of this acquisition."
Relief spread across the faces of the staff.
Then she continued.
"But there will be accountability."
A screen behind her lit up.
Financial records appeared one after another.
Unauthorized transfers.
Hidden debts.
Personal expenses charged to the company.
Daniel stared at the documents.
He had never even known half of them existed.
"Our investigation found years of financial misconduct by members of the previous leadership," Elena said.
"Independent auditors will review every transaction."
No one dared interrupt.
Finally, Elena looked directly at Daniel.
For the first time since entering the room, their eyes met.
"You are Daniel Harrow."
He swallowed.
"Yes."
"You currently serve as Director of Business Development."
"Yes."
"Effective immediately, you are suspended pending investigation."
Gasps echoed through the hall.
Daniel stood abruptly.
"You can't do this!"
"I can."
"This is personal!"
Elena's expression never changed.
"No, Mr. Harrow."
She deliberately used his last name.
"This is business."
Two security officers stepped forward.
Daniel looked around the room, expecting someone to defend him.
No one moved.
Not even the executives who had once praised him.
After the meeting ended, Daniel rushed after Elena.
"Wait!"
She stopped but didn't turn around.
"Please... just let me explain."
"You already did."
"I was angry."
"You threw your wife and newborn children into the snow."
Daniel lowered his head.
"My mother pressured me."
Elena finally faced him.
"So you chose her."
He had no answer.
She walked away.
That afternoon, Vivian stormed into company headquarters.
She pushed past the receptionist.
"I want to see the Chairwoman!"
"I'm sorry, you don't have an appointment."
"I don't need one!"
Before security could stop her, Elena stepped out of the executive elevator.
Vivian pointed a finger at her.
"You lied to my family!"
Elena remained composed.
"I protected my privacy."
"You trapped my son!"
"No."
Elena's voice grew colder.
"Your son chose greed over his family."
Vivian laughed bitterly.
"You think money makes you better than us?"
"No."
"It simply revealed who you already were."
Security escorted Vivian outside as employees watched in stunned silence.
For the first time in years, no one obeyed her.
That evening, Elena returned to the penthouse.
Rose and Leo were awake.
She lifted them carefully into her arms.
"You'll never remember any of this," she whispered.
"And that's the greatest gift I can give you."
Behind her, Mara entered with another report.
"The investigation uncovered something new."
Elena looked up.
"What is it?"
Mara placed a thick file on the table.
"It isn't just fraud."
She opened the folder.
"We found evidence someone deliberately altered your medical records during your pregnancy."
Elena's smile disappeared.
"What?"
"The signatures were forged."
Mara's voice became grave.
"We believe what happened to you wasn't an accident."
Elena stared at the documents.
If the evidence was true...

Someone hadn't just wanted her gone.
Someone had wanted her—and her unborn twins—to die.
