Chapter 5 - The Fall of Holloway

Pandemonium erupted in the boardroom. The Vanguard representatives snatched up their portfolios, demanding immediate explanations for the undisclosed environmental liabilities and fraudulent asset transfers now flashing red on their tablets.
"This is a conspiracy!" Grant shouted, his voice cracking with panic as he pointed a trembling finger at Claire and Julian. "She’s medicated! She’s mentally unstable! Security, remove them!"
"The only person leaving this room in handcuffs is you, Mr. Holloway," the lead federal marshal stepped forward, snapping cold steel bracelets around Grant’s wrists. "You are under arrest for securities fraud, corporate identity theft, and the intentional falsification of municipal environmental records."
As Grant was hauled away past the floor-to-ceiling windows, watching his nine-hundred-million-dollar empire slip through his fingers into federal receivership, he realized too late that his greatest miscalculation wasn't underestimating Julian Vance—it was abandoning the woman who held the blueprints to his entire existence.
Julian turned to Claire, his expression softening as he offered her a supportive arm. "The emergency medical fund for the twins has been secured through the company’s restructuring trust. Your children will never have to worry about a single medical bill again."

Claire looked down at her hands, finally feeling the crushing weight lift from her shoulders. "Thank you, Julian. I don't know how I can ever repay you."
"By letting me take you back to the NICU," Julian replied gently, guiding her toward the private elevator. "Your son and daughter are waiting for their mother."
