Chapter 6 - A New Center Stage

The aftermath was a whirlwind. Emily was offered apprenticeships with three major companies before she even left the stage.
But the victory wasn't just about the career.
Vanessa Blake didn't return to the academy the next semester. Her family moved her to a boarding school in Europe, a quiet exile to escape the gossip of her loss.
Charles Whitmore hosted a celebration in the grand foyer for the students, but he made a point to ensure Grace Carter was the guest of honor. He had hired Grace as the new Academy Manager—a position that oversaw the facility's operations. No more mopping. No more scrubbing. She was the one who signed the contracts and managed the staff.
"You changed everything," Emily told Charles as they stood on the balcony overlooking the city.
"I gave you the platform, Emily," Charles corrected. "You’re the one who provided the show. Never forget that you earned every bit of this."
Emily looked down at her feet—her feet, which had once been hidden in sneakers, now strong and capable in her pointe shoes. She wasn't just a girl from the cleaning staff. She was a dancer. And for the first time in her life, the future didn't look like a series of obstacles to survive, but a stage waiting to be conquered.
She found her mother in the hallway, looking elegant in a new dress, laughing with Eleanor. Emily walked over and took her mother’s hand.
"We made it, Mom," Emily whispered.

"No, baby," Grace smiled, squeezing her hand. "We didn't just make it. We’re just getting started."
The academy lights dimmed, but for Emily, the stage was brighter than it had ever been. She walked toward the center, ready for the next performance.
